World mental health day was celebrated in Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health with various activities for raising the awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of better mental health. The theme of the World Mental Health Day 2017 is ‘Mental Health in Work Place’. As part of celebration, Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health and Chaitanya’s Aryarjun Foundation, Pune have been conducted Mental Health Carnival from 8th to 12th October 2017, in collaboration with the office of Commissioner for Person with Disabilities (Government of Maharashtra) and Regional Mental Hospital, Yerwada. The Mental Health Carnival started with mental health rally and tableau on October 8th 2017 at 10 am from BJ medical college ground and went through the Pune city. The Cultural Talent Contest is also organized on October 10th 2017 in Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Natyagruha auditorium. Various institutions which include psychiatric rehabilitation centers and hospitals in Pune region were participated in the contest. Along with that there was an exhibition arranged on different mental health topics and it begun on October 10th and continued till October 12th 2017.
